As a Service Writer for our class 8 heavy-duty fleet, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our new repair facility.
Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating and overseeing repair tasks, assigning them to a team of skilled diesel technicians, and effectively communicating the status of repairs and estimated completion times to our operations team.
Key
Responsibilities:
1.
Task Assignment:
Efficiently allocate repair tasks to the diesel technicians based on their skills, workload, and priorities.
2.
Communication:
Maintain clear and consistent communication with the operations team, providing regular updates on the status of repairs and estimated time of completion.
3.
Workflow Management:
Ensure the seamless flow of work within the repair facility, optimizing productivity and minimizing downtime.
4.
Customer Service:
Liaise with drivers and Operations Staff to gather information on maintenance issues, providing excellent customer service throughout the repair process.
5.
Documentation:
Keep detailed records of repairs, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional relevant information.
6.
Quality Control:
Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure repairs meet industry standards and company expectations.
7.
Parts Coordination:
Work closely with parts department to ensure timely availability of required components for repairs.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a similar role within the heavy-duty fleet industry.
Strong knowledge of class 8 heavy-duty vehicles and their systems.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in using maintenance management software.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
Previous experience in a service writing or dispatch role in the transportation industry.
