Summary:
Performs maintenance and repairs complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment located at an off-site, field location.
Responsible for communicating repair options to customers, ordering correct parts and completing the repair in an efficient, timely manner in order to satisfy customer needs and achieve department profitability goals.
Essential Functions:
Advises customer of problem areas and recommends repair solutions, gain customer approval, and order appropriate parts to repair equipment promptlyPrepares machine for service work utilizing proper safety procedures (locks, blocking, lock-out procedures) to avoid injuryTroubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failuresDisassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturer's specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized toolingRebuilds, repairs, reconditions and maintains equipment and componentsMaintains good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop managementPlans and controls cost of repair jobsCompletes parts orders and identifies parts for returnMaintains company equipment - keeps it in good, clean, and orderly conditionWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsWorks overtime as required by workload and customers' needsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.

Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigueFrequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 poundsConstant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and staminaAscend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbing up and down laddersBe able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipmentRoutinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to inspect the work visuallyWork Environment:
