This person will need the following
Qualifications:
Duties:
Greet patients in a professional manner both in person and on the phone.
Schedule appointments by phone and in person at check-out.
Enter patient demographics, insurance, and appointment information into EHR (Athena).
Verify insurance eligibility/benefits and assess patient's out-of-pocket expense for office visit.
Review and explain payment plans to patients.
Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at check-in.
Answer all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate staff when necessary.
Skills:
Must be friendly and personable and enjoy working with the public Ability to work in a face-paced environment.
Ability to work under pressure and to multi-task.
Computer skills required (EHR experience preferred) Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Experience with appointment scheduling in a medical office preferred Excellent phone etiquette is a must.
Must be detail oriented while remaining flexible at all times.
Must be comfortable working in a team environment.
